Capricornia Division of General Practice in collaboration with CQ District Mental Health, Central Queensland University, Bidgerdii, ATODS, Community Employment Options and Rockhampton Youth Interagency network have developed a project submission around the Headspace selection criteria which includes the establishment of a Community of Youth Services (CYS). Successful applications are anticipated to be announced before December 2007.

The project assumes a preventative model that broadly engages all youth across the 12- 25 year age group. It does not aim to duplicate services or add to already stretched resources in the region. Rather the model will encompass an onsite service, where appropriate and viable, and a referral or co-location model. Sustainability after the funding period has also been considered in the development of the model.
